Have you ever thought: “I wish I could control this” or “I wish things would go exactly how I want them to be”? We’ve all been there for sure, and I know it can be overwhelming to feel powerless when we want to help solve a situation or make things better for ourselves and the people we love. That’s why now, we’re going to explore in-depth what control is, how we can identify the things within our control, and what to do when we feel helpless.
Â
Control: The power to influence or direct people's behaviour or the course of events.
Truth is, most people when they want something, they usually want to control what happens, when, why, how it manifests.
The reality of control is that we have to allow the flow to happen. So all we need to do is have a clearly defined goal so we can be laser-light focused. We can create an image in our minds and know what it is that we want and then, build the structure. Here are some questions that might help you in this process:Â
Do you remember the end of last year when you were desperate for a break. Then you went away to relax, reset, reflect, and were ready to come back to work in January with fresh eyes and motivation for the new year. You had meetings, you planned the year, the goals, the purpose, everyone was relaxed and committed with enthusiasm. Then, by the end of February, early March, somehow we all fell back into our old habits and started working frantically again with no plan, just doing for the sake of doing. Have you wondered how that happened?Â
Â
This is not unique to you or your team. We see this in most organisations. People tend to revert to working harder, not smarter, our old paradigms take over, and we start to operate from a place of fear. We are creatures of habit and 96 to 98 percent of our behaviour is on autopilot. Our brains are designed that way to help us conserve energy,  so staying in our comfort zone and away from change is what we revert back to. We do this in every sin...
Welcome to the busy paradigm! Entering March, most people have forgotten their new year's resolutions, those promises they made themselves back in late December. We are back on autopilot, back to the routine of being really busy, protecting ourselves, back to the same paradigm, same emotions, feelings, actions and results. Our brains are designed to get us back into that loop because that's where supposed safety is. It's actually not safe at all, from a health perspective it's one of the worst places to be.
Â
From a young age, we have been taught that you need to work really hard to get results. Unfortunately, common culture moulds us to believe that the more occupied we are, the more productive we become, and the more value we hold. Because of this, we have learned to value ourselves according to how “productive” we are.
Â
The quest for productivity has become one of the longest lasting and most influential culture trends, where it seems that everything is about life hacks on how ...

Let's reflect on a few things, unconditional love and how you treat yourself. How often have you observed yourself treating other people differently than the way you treat yourself? What do you say to yourself? Are you as forgiving with yourself as you are with others?
Â
From all the work I have done with people I have realised it's an observation exercise and realization, this is incredible and eye opening but it's a beautiful journey all the same.
We often say things to ourselves that we would never ever say to other people, for example - whenever you make a mistake you say things to yourself like; I will never get it right, I knew it wouldnt work, how dumb am I, I am ugly, I am useless.Â
Now imagine saying that to someone you love. It seems cruel, unkind, right? There are things we say to ourselves that we would never dare to say to others. Unconditional...
In the world of sales, your business results are tied hand-in-hand with how your team performs to best meet your customer’s needs. Without strong team performance, you won’t be able to have strong sales results. So, if you want to reach those high and lofty sales goals by the end of the fiscal year, you need to reevaluate your sales team performance by first looking at the leadership of that team to boost those end-of-year sales.
To accomplish this and turn your sales team into a lean, mean sales producing team that works like a finely tuned machine, we need to discuss the (not so) secret formula to creating this better team performance, for which your customers will thank you.

Everything starts and ends with leadership. If the leader...
Reem emigrated to Australia with her family when she was nearly 14, an intimidating and lonely experience that taught her a lot. She quickly learnt, if you have a dream and you focus on it, you can achieve anything.
Â
From a young age Reem always dreamt big, she knew she wanted more, to achieve more, to accomplish her goals. But, getting there wasn't always a clear or obvious path.Â
Â
When she entered the workforce after her Postgrad degree, swapping and changing between jobs, feeling lost, she knew she wanted so much but was achieving nothing, and had little to show for it.
Â
We asked her a couple of questions to get to the bottom of the what and how she achieved everything she has done so far.
Â
Q1. What is your vision and approach?
Â
To help people realise that they can get whatever they want, can have whatever they want and grow in whatever way they want to - without all the “hardship” and emotional turmoil that we believe comes with following your dreams and achieving ...
The past 2 years have been unprecedented in Australia. Australia's bushfires may feel like a distant past, but we thought that would define 2020. How wrong were we? That devastation was quickly replaced by COVID-19, and we experienced our 1st national 6-week lockdown. It wasn’t easy and while business and people suffered, we worked out ways to connect virtually and there was an element of novelty to it. Â
Once out of our first lockdown, most Australians went back to business semi-normal, apart from travel, and we all looked at those living in Melbourne and felt for them having to endure further lockdowns. For the most part though, we felt we had kept the virus at bay and had bucked the global trend. We watched the chaos and division from afar and congratulated ourselves for keeping it out of our country. Until mid 2021 that is.
NSW and VIC were hit again and this time by the dreaded Delta strain. ...
Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to build a high performing team in your organisation? Or felt like it’s way out of your reach and control? Intellectually, we can all share opinions on how high performing teams are built and what great leaders look like.Â
Opinions are a dime a dozen especially with social media these days, and leadership as a topic has become like any other national sport or pastime, with many people chiming in on their opinion, criticising current leadership frameworks and sharing what it needs to look like. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone is entitled to share their opinion and thoughts and many people genuinely do this to help others.Â
We do need to be aware though that it’s so much easier to look from the outside in and criticise, yet much harder to execute on and deliver results. It takes a special type of someone to gently put to one side people’s opinions and criticism, and focus on truly developing themselves as a leader to help build a hi...
In business, you are only as good as your sales team. Sales teams are a critical part of organisations, and how we view/treat our sales teams will determine how successful they are. Even one recruitment error can have negative impact on overall organisational results if this new team member fails to secure the lucrative contract the company was looking/budgeting for. On the positive side, a team full of A-players can catapult your revenue far beyond your projections.
Many companies struggle to build the dream team they want and that is usually the result of bad decisions, lack of experience, absence of clear processes and systems, as well as unclear expectations and communication.
Building a sales “dream team” begins during the recruiting process and continues throughout the employee lifecycle.
Here are some very simple first steps to take that will help build the sales team your business needs to make it to the next level:
Do you need ins...
